How we are managing COVID

We understand that this is a difficult time for everyone, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We follow all the directives given to us by the W.A Health Department and you can read more about what informs our practice guidelines here: ​WA Government’s Managing COVID-19

Attending appointments

Please do not come to appointments in person if you have cold or flu symptoms, or if you are a close contract of someone who has had COVID. We would be happy to see you via Telehealth instead and will make every effort to support you whilst you are unable to attend the centre. 

When entering the centre, please wear a mask, Your mask must remain on at all times, apart from when taking a drink. This is to ensure your own safety and that of our staff. We also see many children at our centre, and children in year 3 of school and above must also wear a mask. Thank you for your understanding.

Mask exemptions may apply to certain people. If you have a mask exemption or meet criteria (for example a panic disorder makes it difficult t wear a mask 100% of the time), please discuss this with your counsellor.

Please make sure to sign in using the QR code in the waiting room and social distance as much as possible.

What our staff are doing to keep you safe

Our staff are all triple vaccinated and we will not attend site if we have any cold or flu symptoms. We know it is awkward to wear a mask whilst counselling, but we need to maintain your safety and our own by wearing one. 

Our staff clean their offices and the building using COVID effective cleaning products. Hand sanitiser must be used before and after seeing each client.

We will socially distance as much as possible, which limits counselling room capacity to 3 people.

COVID-19 and mental health

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused stress and pressure to families, individuals and children in many ways. your mental health may be impacted by your COVID -19 experiences and we acknowledge that mental health impacts are real and significant. Please discuss any of the challenging impacts of this pandemic with your counsellor.

Having to self-isolate causes many people distress, including social isolation, loneliness and an inability to  acquire food or medications. Please speak to your counsellor about your COVID plan if the thought of self-isolating causes you worry.

We also acknowledge the distress of families not being able to be together during the past few years due to border closures or lockdowns. We understand this may have impacted our clients attending important family events such as births, deaths, weddings and funerals.
