Jemma is a highly skilled and experienced therapist who has worked in child and adult mental health for over 30 years. Jemma is a caring and respectful practitioner who provides a safe and non-threatening environment to enable clients to explore their presenting issues, develop personal insights, identify their own solutions and reach their full potential.
Jemma is person centred in her practice and draws from a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, Trauma Informed Practice, Attachment Informed Therapy, Positive Psychology, Mindfulness and Systems Theory.
Jemma is very aware of the benefits of external support for other practitioners and offers clinical supervision to counsellors in various workplaces. Jemma is employed as a sessional academic at the University of Western Australia providing supervision and education to future Social Workers.
As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Jemma can offer a Medicare rebate on presentation of a current Mental Health Care Plan and referral from your GP. You are also welcome to attend counselling without a GP referral. Jemma also works with clients with NDIS funding.
